Hi, I’m Kari…
I have been supporting people of all ages with their mental health for 15+ years with issues including grief, life transitions, domestic violence, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I love my job and always feel it is a privilege to be invited in to a person’s tender emotional places. My clients are my greater teachers.
I benefitted from beginning my career working with people leaving abusive relationships with their children in a transitional housing program. I facilitated play therapy with children and parents there, and learned a lot about attachment and complex trauma from the families. I enjoy walking alongside a person who has felt a loss of control in their life or don’t have a solid sense of who they are…and help them towards empowerment and agency once again, or for the first time.
I am a San Diego native, and enjoy all things sporty, outdoors-y, garden-y, as well as furry. I married a cutey from Kansas over a decade ago, and we have 2 school aged girls. Together we navigate all the feelings everyday in a messy, imperfect, yet wonderful sort of way.
